Come Cheer with the HCU Cheerleaders Cheerleaders performing on the HCU campus field during the Mini Huskies Cheer Clinic, promoting school spirit and inclusion.

The HCU Mini Huskies Cheer Clinic is designed for participants K-8th Grade, ages 5-14, all ability levels. The goal is to introduce them to HCU Cheer, our HCU traditions and teach them basic cheer skills including tumbling, jumps, stunts, and cheers. Participants will also learn a routine to perform with the HCU Cheerleaders during the Pregame Show of the HCU vs East Texas A&M – Commerce Football game later that day to be part of and experience the electric game day environment in real time.

Performance: HCU vs. East Texas A&M football game pregame show in Huskies Stadium at 5:30PM

Performance participation is entirely optional, but SO MUCH FUN!

Registration Cost:

  • Individual: $40
  • Siblings: $5 off for each additional sibling with code SIBLING
  • Team: Coach to email spirit@hc.edu to receive team discount code to give to your athletes

Registration includes:

  • Clinic fee
  • Mini Huskies Cheer Clinic T-Shirt (for participants to entry into the game and wear during performance)

  • T-shirt for one parent/guardian — additional family shirts are available to purchase for $10 each at registration

Location & Parking

Clinic will be held on the HCU campus in the Glasscock Gym which is located at 7502 Fondren Rd. 国产偷拍, TX 77074

  • Use the main entrance (gate 1) on Fondren Road
  • Parking is complimentary in Lot 2 & 3 in front of the Brown Academic Center
  • Follow the Husky signs that will lead you on a short walk to the clinic check-in

  • Use the main entrance (gate 1) on Fondren Road
  • Parking is complimentary in Lot 2 & 3 in front of the Brown Academic Center or in Lot 6
  • Participants and families will enter on the North side of the stadium
  • Performance check in will be located near the South side concession stand
  • Performers will be in the South endzone – families are welcome to watch from Section Lower 101 & 102
  • Map of HCU Campus and visitor parking lots

Clinic

8:45AM: Check-In starts

If your cheerleader does not wish to perform at the game, that is perfectly fine! The performance is entirely optional, but SO FUN! Just let our Spirit Staff know at check-in for formation and performance check in purposes. All clinic participants will get into the game by wearing their clinic t-shirt even if they will not be performing. Only performers will be allowed on the field.听

9:00AM- 12:00PM: Clinic Begins. Participants will be grouped by age and skill level to learn tumbling, jumps, stunts, cheers and a routine from our HCU cheerleaders and coaches.

11:45AM: Participants perform for families to see what they have learned & receive final game/performance instructions

12:00pm: Clinic participants dismissed until performance report time.

Game and Performance

3:55PM (Optional): Husky Spirit Walk — Join the HCU cheerleaders, Marching Band, Husky Dance Squad, Mingo the Mascot and Kiza IV, our live Siberian Husky mascot, as we welcome the football team to the stadium at Lot 5 by the giant Huskies sign. One of our favorite game day traditions to kick off game day!

4:30PM: Stadium gates open

5:30PM: All participants report to the South Endzone gate in Husky Stadium.听 All participants will be taken down to the field by the Spirit staff. Mini Huskies cheerleaders will perform in the South Endzone (closest to the video board). Families are welcome to watch the pregame show from the stands in section Lower 101 & 102.

5:45PM: Mini Huskies Cheerleaders perform in the South endzone

6:00PM: Parents and families meet the Spirit staff with your cheerleaders at the top of the North Endzone ramp, show your coordinating wristbands and join the fans in the stands to cheer on the Huskies!

 

Clinic Attire

  • Comfortable T-shirt for clinic
  • Athletic shorts, skort or yoga/legging pants
  • Athletic shoes
  • Hair should be pulled back out of the face with an optional cheer bow for girls (white, blue, or orange)
  • No jewelry should be worn throughout the duration of the clinic and performance for athlete safety

Performance Attire

  • Clinic t-shirt – Participant’s entry into the game
  • Wristband given at clinic check-in for participant and parent/guardian
  • Athletic shorts, skort or yoga/legging pants)
  • Athletic shoes
  • Hair should be pulled back out of the face with an optional cheer bow for girls (white, blue, or orange)
  • No jewelry should be worn throughout the duration of the performance
  • Families attending are encouraged to wear HCU attire
